Turkey after 2010 and Russia relations

Between Russia and Turkey it has a long historical process. These processes play an important role in determining the relations between the two neighboring states. The differentiation of mutual political interests between Turkey and Russia in the past led to the ongoing confrontation between the two countries and negatively affect the progress of bilateral relations. Today, due to the changing balance the relations between Russia and Turkey has gained a significant dimension. Recently, Russia's demand for becoming a Global Power, developments after the Arab Spring process, problems arising on the axis of the Syrian crisis, the establishment of energy lines, the Nuclear Cooperation and the dialogue process established between the leaders have created the ground for greater relations with Russia. Leaders of the two countries in developing relations between Turkey and Russia undoubtedly has a great contribution. President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Russian President Vladimir Putin exerts a great effort for the development of relations between the two countries. Following the rapid development of economic cooperation in the 1990s, bilateral relations entered a new era with the close dialogue between the political leadership of the two countries in the early 2000s and established an institutional basis with the High Level Cooperation Council (UDIK) established in 2010. The fact that Russia is our neighbor, the regional and global power at a geopolitical and geostrategic point, the course of the Turkish-Russian relations and the effects of the relations on economic, political and convergence periods were discussed and evaluated.
