Analysis of postgraduate theses on environmental education published between 2011-2022

This study is a descriptive study conducted to reveal the general tendencies of postgraduate theses on environmental education published between 2011-2022 in Turkey. Within the scope of the research, the database of the National Thesis Center of the Council of Higher Education was scanned and 241 master's and 46 doctoral theses and 1 specialization in medicine were included in the study sample. The master's and doctoral thesis included in the sample group were included in the study year, university, department and institute, research topic, gender of the author, title of the advisor, sample group, number of samples, research method, technique used in the research, data collection techniques and data collection tool analyzed in terms of data analysis techniques and keywords. As a result of the study, the most studied subject in the field of environmental education is "environmental education", the university with the most studies is Gazi University and the most common type of thesis is master's degree. It has been determined that the most quantitative research method in the field of environmental education and the scanning model is used as the research design. While it was determined that the most women were working, the consultants who did the most work were Prof. Dr. has been determined. It has been determined that as the sample group, primary school students and undergraduate students of the faculty of education are mostly studied and there has been an increase in studies on environmental education in recent years. In the study, it was determined that the most data collection tool was Environmental Attitude Scale and SSPS, one of the data analysis programs, was the most used program. It has been determined that t-test and ANOVA are among the analyzes used, and environmental education and environmental attitude are the most used keywords. At the end of the research, based on the findings, suggestions were made to the researchers who will work on the study and on environmental education.
