Abstract (EN)
The main purpose of this study is to present in a comprehensive framework of how the Syrian crisis, which started in 2011 and continues up-to-date, has brought about drastic transformation in the international system and how it has affected the US-Russia competition in the international arena. In this direction, taking into consideration the international system and conflict phenomena that constitute the theoretical concepts, the present study was instituted on columns of substantial questions represented as "What is the structure of the international system in the post-Cold War period?", "How has the US-Russian struggle in the international system, especially in the Middle East region?", and how did "Syrian crisis" contribute to the US-Russia ongoing and continuous struggle?", "What are the areas and elements of the US and Russia struggle in Syria?", and "What are the reasons which make the USA and Russia are so interested in Syria?". The subject was constructed and analysed on the basis of questions such as: The basic assumption of the study is that the international system is evolving from a unipolar structure to a multipolar structure in the 21st century, and the "2011 Syrian crisis" is one of the main links of this change. The research, which was tried to produce knowledge by positioning historical information where it interacts with today's current political science and international relations realities, uses neo-realist theory as the main method in this process.
