Abstract (EN)

In our globalizing world, the importance of patents, which is one of the intellectual and industrial rights, is increasing with the growing importance of information-based economic and cognitive activities. This situation necessitates the examination of the patent in a standard way with international agreements. For this reason, many international agreements dating back to 1883 and starting with the Paris Convention were signed. It is a member of most of these agreements in the field of patents in Turkey and has started to increase its examination standards to world standards since 1995. In our study, our current situation, which reached world standards after the abolition of the patent without examination in 2017 and the establishment of the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office, has been analyzed by examining the utility model and patent applications made in Turkey in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 by years and months. As the research universe, patent and utility model applications data obtained from Türk patent's website from 10.01.2017 to the end of 2021 were used. In addition, the effect of Covid-19, which started in China at the end of 2019 and affected the whole world, and started to show its effect in Turkey in March 2020, on the applications was examined by drawing graphs and the graphs were interpreted. The obtained findings were discussed and evaluated in the conclusion part, theoretically and practically.
