This study examined the vicarious trauma (VT) experienced by psychologists providing psychosocial support after the 2023 Kahramanmaraş earthquakes. It explored the mediator roles of coping strategies and the moderator roles of professional factors (supervision and training on psychological trauma) in the relationships between VT and both vicarious posttraumatic growth (VPTG) and vicarious posttraumatic depreciation (VPTD). The sample included 122 psychologists who provided post- earthquake psychosocial support and worked in clinical settings, recruited via purposive and snowball sampling on social media. Data were collected using the Demographic Information Form, Vicarious Trauma Scale, Ways of Coping Questionnaire, and Posttraumatic Growth and Depreciation Inventory—Expanded Version. Results of analyses showed that both seeking refuge in fate and seeking refuge in supernatural forces mediated the relationship between VT and VPTG. No coping strategy predicted VPTD or mediated the VT-VPTD relationship. Of the professional factors, only supervision predicted VPTG, while neither supervision nor training on psychological trauma predicted VPTD or moderated the VT-VPTG/VPTD relationships. These findings emphasize the need to include spiritual coping strategies and effective supervision into support programs for psychologists in post-disaster settings. Strengths, limitations, and future research directions are discussed.
