Abstract (EN)
In the current century, with the extraordinary development of communication technologies, there has been an acceleration in international economic, sociocultural, and political relations, leading to the emergence of holistic and shared values worldwide. Globalization, which is active in every aspect of life, when combined with advancements in technology and elements of contemporary visual culture, has led to significant changes and impacts in the field of art like never before. Parallel to globalization, the production, presentation, and perception of art have transformed, with new tools and digital platforms provided by technology enabling artists to reach wider audiences and diversify their means of expression. Technology has facilitated the digitization of art pieces, the use of virtual and augmented reality technologies, and the integration of groundbreaking developments in artificial intelligence with artistic practices, leading to the creation of works that embody multidisciplinary approaches. The 21st century has shaped a perception of visual culture through popular culture, media, and internet social networks, deeply influencing the content and presentation of art, transforming the meanings and functions of art pieces. The aim of this thesis is to examine changing art perceptions within the axes of globalization, technology, and visual culture, and to investigate the effects on the development of ceramic art; determining how material and technical possibilities are evolving and interacting today. While researching the effects of these dynamics on 21st-century ceramic art, the subcategories of these concepts are explored to establish a research foundation for the practices to be conducted within the thesis. The research method of the thesis has been determined as primarily qualitative. In conclusion, the artistic works presented through personal applications have employed the three dynamics identified as globalization, technology, and visual culture, comprehensively examining their effects on ceramic art and documenting the changes and developments in this field. KeyWords: 21st century, ceramic art, globalization, technology, visual culture
