Abstract (EN)

In the Cold War which had started after the World War II, NATO that had influenced by US was formed as a military alliance to USSR as a power by European Countries in the American leadership. Since European Countries were lack of the capable of the necessary military and financial capacity, European Countries had supported the formation of NATO and accepted the US security umbrella. Moreover NATO has acted as a security umbrella, in the mean time NATO also protect the US economic and political interest in Europe. After the Cold War, serious conservations that were about the NATO?s presence. In this period, European countries claimed the useless of NATO. In spite of these situation, after the Cold War, NATO has adopted a revision policy and movement in its structure according to new global threats. Thus, after starting the revision in the structure, NATO ended the arguments about its presence and adopted a role as a Global Gendarmerie.
