The district of Tokat according to the Tokat Court Register No. 22 (H:1232-1233/M: 1816-1818)

In this thesis study, summaries of the documents in the "Tokat Sharia Register No. 22" belonging to the years (Hijri: 1232-1233 / Gregorian: 1816-1818) were prepared, and in the light of the documents in the register, focused on Tokat's administrative and socio-economic status in the said period. Our work consists of four parts. In the first part, explanations about the Ottoman judicial system, the courts, the officials in the court, the definition and content of the sharia registers are given, and the current status of the registers and the studies on the registers are mentioned. In the second part, information about the types of documents found in the Shari'ah Registers is given, and the records in the Tokat Sharia Register No. 22 are classified. In the third chapter, the data obtained about the social, economic and administrative structure of Tokat in the years (Hijri: 1232-1233 / Gregorian: 1816-1818) are emphasized by using the documents in the Register.
