Transcription and evaluation of Kütahya Şer'iye Register (Register Number: 26, Kütahya)

The Kütahya book of records numbered 26 was written between the Decembers of 1846 and 1880. It contains documents belonging to Kütahya and some towns, districts, villages and neighborhoods connected to Kütahya. The şer'iye registers transmit to us the records of court decisions that have been transferred from that period to the present day. Since the şer'iye registries mention Kütahya and its surroundings, districts, towns and villages, they also convey the social, political, economic and cultural structure in these places to us. In the work, tezkire, commanded, acquittal, edict, waqf, murase, i'lâm, inheritance, tereke, official correspondence, shukka, guardian appointment and transcription and evaluation of court records of hujjah documents. The ledger states that a conclusion has been reached in the light of the facts which have been referred to the court; we see documents in which punishment was imposed, exiled, appointment made, or inheritance apportioned. On some pages of the documents, the inscriptions are indicated by a (...?) sign as there is an mark that is faint. In this şer'iye register book, it is mostly recorded in the register of appointments that the mutasarrıf of a foundation has passed away and the appointment of a deputy or a new mutasarrıf.
