Abstract (EN)
The media has an unignorable effect on communities on many areas, from paper to internet in its historical process. The Turkish political life can be said to have seen this effect clearly in the February 28th Period. In this sense, the purpose of the thesis entitled "The Relationship between Media and Politics in the Process of February 28th" is to see how the media influences the political sphere in the February 28th Process. For this purpose, as socio-economical and political, we tried to explain the power of the media from a historical perspective. It is also aimed to explain that the media can cause political and social unrest with manipulative actions. The investigation of the subject was subjected to a sociological modality and it was attempted to detect the manipulative actions against the Refah Party and the Refahyol Government in this modeling way. Various sample data which can be reached including the headlines of Hürriyet, Milliyet and Sabah newspapers were tried to be examined through the same model. In these studies, the media emerges as an entity that can manipulate many fields such as politics, social, economics and military. In this sense, it can be said that in the February 28 Process, which has an important place in Turkish Political Life, the media is a means of manipulation and becomes "guardianship". Raising secular-anti secular society rhetoric, trying to manipulate the people by alienating the RP and Erbakan, trying to show that as if there were a tension between army and government and by this way trying to make it happen, it is seen that there is a "media" that takes place in the formation of social public opinion in order to deteriorate the Refahyol coalition. Key Words: February 28th, Media and Politics, Media and Manipulation, Refah Party
