Abstract (EN)
Energy demand is increasing rapidly around the world and this increasing demand brings with it challenges such as global warming and environmental pollution. An adequate clean, affordable and secure energy supply is closely linked to global stability, economic development and social welfare. Therefore, clean renewable energy is becoming a priority issue. Due to the development of innovative technologies in the photovoltaic industry and the reduction in the cost of photovoltaics, solar energy is expected to play an important role in the future global energy mix in both developed and developing countries. This thesis presents the performance results obtained from monitoring a grid-connected photovoltaic system designed and installed on the roof of a marble factory located in Afyonkarahisar Province (latitude 38.75° N and longitude 30.53° E) with Solarify platform. The study focuses on the use of Solarify platform as a tool to analyze the performance of a 284.7 kWp photovoltaic rooftop system and also compares the performance of different facades based on the north and south facade performance ratio. The system was monitored between 14th January 2021 and 31st December 2021. The studied photovoltaic system consists of 876 solar panels and 4 inverters. When the performance ratio of the north facade is compared with the performance ratio of the south facade, it has been observed that the photovoltaic panels positioned on the south facade produce more energy with a noticeable difference. This thesis has also shown that Solarify platform is an easy, fast and user-friendly tool for monitoring photovoltaic systems.
