An investigation of the support process based on the Kid-Ged program for listening, language, and communication skills in children aged 3-6 with hearing loss

The purpose of this study is to examine the process of supporting the listening, language, and communication skills of children aged 3-6 with hearing loss based on the Kid-Ged program for children aged 3-6. The process aims to support the children's listening, language, and communication skills and to examine the serviceability of the Kid-Ged Program by implementing it in the field. To this end, an action research study was designed, involving three children aged between three and six with hearing loss and their parents. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documents and products, checklists, scales, and reflective researcher diaries, and were analyzed systematically using both inductive and descriptive methods. Throughout the research process, the children's listening, language, and communication skills were supported, and practices were developed to increase parental involvement in the process. In addition, all components of the Kid-Ged Program were implemented, and improvements were made throughout the process to enhance the program. The results of the study showed that children with hearing loss experienced improvements in their listening, language, and communication skills, parents' participation in the intervention process increased, and improvements were observed in the content and implementation of the Kid-Ged Program. It is recommended that teacher training and effectiveness studies involving different stakeholders be conducted to disseminate the program.
