Abstract (EN)

3D building models significantly contribute to the proper management of property rights and the achievement of energy efficiency goals in modern urbanization processes. This study examines in detail the process of integrating rooftop solar panels into a 3D building model database and the roles and responsibilities of surveying engineers in these operations. Additionally, it argues that GIS tools should be utilized to enhance the accuracy, comprehensiveness, and visualization of energy consumption and production analyses. Accordingly, it is emphasized that rooftop solar panels should be integrated into the 3D digital building model. A geodatabase design has been developed for the integration of rooftop solar energy panels into 3D building models, and the roles and responsibilities of surveying engineers in the modeling process have been defined. As a result, current 3D digital building model production standards do not include spatial information on solar panels. To address this gap, the study highlights the necessity of adopting modern and innovative approaches for the integration and management of solar energy systems within the geodatabase. Furthermore, it underscores the crucial role of surveying engineering in achieving sustainable urbanization goals.
