Özet (EN)
This study aims to examine the effects of a 4-week corrective exercise program applied to adult sedentary individuals to correct forward head posture (FHP) dysfunction. Forward head posture is a common postural disorder that can have negative effects on physical health. In this context, evaluating the effectiveness of exercises that can be applied to correct forward head posture is an important issue both clinically and socially. The study involved 40 sedentary male and female participants, aged 18-50. The participants were divided into two groups: the experimental group (EG) and the control group (CG). The experimental group underwent corrective exercises for 4 weeks, three days a week, while the control group was not given any exercise program. To evaluate the effectiveness of the exercises, the postures of individuals with forward head posture dysfunction were analyzed using the craniovertebral angle (CVA) measurement. The CVA was measured through photos taken with a digital camera, and these measurements were calculated using the ImageJ software. The study was conducted using an experimental model, and descriptive statistical analyses available in the SPSS (Ver.15) software were used for data analysis. Since the Shapiro-Wilk test indicated that the data were normally distributed, parametric tests were preferred for comparison analysis. The "Independent Sample t-Test" was used for intergroup comparisons, and the "Paired Sample t-Test" was used for comparing repeated measurements within groups. A significance level of "α" = 0.05 was accepted. According to the analysis of the information obtained; There appears to be no significant difference between the groups in the Head Forward Posture pre-test scores. and Head Forward Posture post-test scores of the controls and exercise groups, it was seen that there was a significant difference between the groups and this different in favour of exercise group. This finding shows that regular and planned exercises have positive effects on Head Forward Posture disorder.
