Özet (EN)

IV ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is to compare the kindergarten students at the age of 5- 6 who draw looking at a ready material with the kindergarten students at the same age who draw spontaneously. The use of ready-materials such as coloring books is very common in kindergartens, but we do not have clear evidence that helps students draw betters. The data were collected from a sample of 320 students from eight kindergartens in the center of Usak by means of drawings of these students. Thus, this is a survey study. The students in each kindergarten were divided into two groups. First group of children were shown a picture and asked to copy it. The second group were not shown the picture but the content of the picture orally described. The data collected were analyzed by T- test For Equality of Means, Chi-square and Correlation testes. Drawings of these two groups were compared based on color use, time typology, perspective, design, details, symmetry, transparency, leveling, hierarchy, conceptual- maintenance, and completion. As a result of these comparisons,it was observed that drawing spontaneously was more effective in developing creativeness in these students whereas drawing by looking at a ready material was more effective in making them acquire the peculiarities of perspective and symmetry. Thus, it can be said that if ready drawing materials are given to these students rationally, desired skills can be achieved in them easily.
