Investigation of the relationship between acceptance-rejection levels of parents with 5-6 years old children and resilience of children

In this researh, examined the relationship between acceptance and rejection levels of children with 5-6 years old parents and resilience of children. The scope of this research was parents with 5-6 years old children who had been attending preschool in Karadeniz Eregli in the 2018-2019 academic year. A total of 290 (124 girls, 166 boys) children and their parents were included into this research and it is the correlational survey model. The scales used in this research are Personal Information Form, Parental Acceptance-Rejection Questionnaire (PARQ) Mother and Father Short Form and Early Childhood Resilience Scale (ECRS). According to the results, it was concluded that the age, gender and number of siblings of the children who participated in the study had no effect on the resilience of children. Moreover, the resilience levels of the children did not differ according to the age variable of the parents. In addition, it was concluded that the resilience of children differed significantly according to the education level of their mothers and fathers. It was educed that the mothers' warmth/affection level differed significantly according to the age of the children. It was concluded that mothers' warmth/affection level, hostility/aggression level, indifference/neglectlevel, undifferentiated/rejection level and total acceptance-rejection level did not differ according to the gender of their children. Parental acceptance-rejection subscale scores of mothersandfathers has differedaccordingtotheeducationlevel of themothersandfathers. Finally, it has been identified there is no any significant relationship between resilience of children and parental acceptance-rejection.
