The waqfs (Foundations) in Kütahya Sancak at the end of XVI. century according to the Tahrir Book numbered 560 (Kütahya and hinterlands)

In the process from past to present, societies have established various institutions within their structure in order to provide needs such as social assistance, security and solidarity. In Islamic societies, these institutions appear as foundations. The allocation of a person's private property to the public adds a social character to the society. In this matter, foundations have a religious or charitable purpose. When we look at the example of the Ahi Evran Foundation which we may encounter in Kütahya, it will stand out as one of the most important charitable foundations in this Thesis. The main purpose of this Thesis is to give information about the foundations established in Kütahya before and after the Ottomans and their productions, qualifications and charitable people. In addition, it's purpose in the light of the information provided to us by the foundations is to reveal a little bit of the kinship ties of the period. In this research, Tahrir Book Number 560 was taken as the main source and the study was supported with foreign and local works in the literature. In the Tables section, we have mentioned the qualifications, productions and names of the trustees as well as the tribes in which the foundations were found.
