Abstract (EN)
The Karaferye court record numbered 566, which sheds light on the social, economic and administrative life of Karaferye (Béroia / Véria), covers the years of 1782-1783 (1196-1197).In the introduction part of this research, which consists of four parts, Ottoman court records is discussed. Then, the history of Karaferye and Ottoman law is examined in the second part of the study. After the transcription of the court record, we evaluate and interpret the court record under some important topics. Taxes and disruptions at the collection of taxes are an important part of the court record. In the court record consisting of 96 provisions, the main topics mirroringsocial life of the city are as follows; taxes, appointments, inheritance records, charity records, the supply of cereal, meat and sailors,debt-liability issues, land ownership, banditry, assault, theft and extortion. The record also shows us the key position of Kadi acting as a localadministrator anda judgein the administration of the city.
