Abstract (EN)

Supervisor: Ass. Prof. Eren BALO In this study, it is aimed to compare the Pragmatic Language Skills Inventory-Turkish Version (PDBE-TV) scores of children aged 6-9 years with Speech Sound Disorder, children with Specific Learning Disabilities, and typically developing children. The study was conducted with a total of 58 participants, including 21 participants with typical development, 19 with Speech Sound Disorder, and 18 with Specific Learning Disabilities. PDBE-TV, SST-SET, and TODIL data applied to all participants were analyzed. SPSS 30.0 program was used in the analysis. The chi-squared test was used to compare categorical variables and to examine the differences between groups. For continuous variables, One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) was used to compare three or more independent groups. Kruskal-Wallis H test was used for continuous variables that did not meet the normality assumption. A statistical significance level of p < 0.05 was accepted for all tests. It was observed that participants diagnosed with Specific Learning Disabilities had significantly lower scores in pragmatic language skills. It should be taken into consideration that children diagnosed with Specific Learning Disabilities may also need support in terms of pragmatic language skills.
