Abstract (EN)
The misconception is that judgments that contradict the scientific principles that an individual has formed in their minds. Identifying and correcting the existing misconceptions in students is an important part of the process. Providing students with access to concepts, identifying and eliminating existing misconceptions will enable them to learn more about the concepts they will learn later. In this research, students' level of understanding of the concepts in the unit were determined and their misconceptions were determined. In addition, the misconceptions and misconceptions used in this study are important in terms of the teaching approach and materials that are useful for teachers and the researchers who will work in this field. The aim of this study is to examine the change in conceptual knowledge of students on the misconceptions of the 6th grade students in the Adventure of Democracy unit. The study group consisted of 6/A and 6/B students studying at the Havuz Secondary School in the Kangal county of Sivas province. In this class, 24 students were according to the situation of transport and parental leave. As a method in the research, action research was used from qualitative research methods. In determining the concepts, the sixth grade social studies teacher's guide book was used in the Adventure Unit of Democracy Unit, where the concepts that were aimed at gaining students were given, and the students were able to give the meanings of the concepts as short written answers. When evaluating the answers of the students to the concepts in the form, explanations about the concepts in the textbook and the explanations in the Grand Turkish Dictionary (Turkish Language Association [TDK], 2018) were taken into consideration. Students' answers; The concept was defined as correct comprehension, misconception and unanswered, and 10 concepts were determined by interpreting and interpreting the percentage and frequency values. With the researcher in the first and last stage of the course, students will use the activities designed by the researcher in order to resolve their mistakes related to the concept achievement test and the republic, sovereignty, democracy, constitutional monarchy, monarchy, oligarchy, theocracy, legislative, judicial and executive concepts. It was analyzed. As a result of the research, it has been determined that the activities in the research and action of the Republic, sovereignty, democracy, constitutionalism, monarchy, oligarchy, theocracy, legislative, judiciary and executive concepts are effective in the elimination of misconceptions and teaching the concept.
