Abstract (EN)
Muhimme Registers are the registers in which decisions taken at the Divan-ı Hümâyûn, the central executive decision of the Ottoman State, are recorded. These Registers contain very important information that will shed light on the political, administrative, military, social and economic events of the time they are held. The examined Muhimme Register numbered 73 in this study covers the last year of Murad III reign (1574-1595) and the first year of Mehmed III reign (1595-1603). The provisions in the Registers usually give information on the issues of brutality, the appearance of the army, the necessity of the army, the cereal supply of Istanbul, assignments, mosque repair, foundation, butchery, relations with non-Muslims and the situation of Mecca and Medina. The copies and index of the Registers are given at the last pages of the study together with the studied and under-study Muhimme Registers. Keywords: Muhimme Registers, Divan-ı Hümâyûn, III.
