Application of geogebra activities in 8th grade mathematics textbooks with worksheets

Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research is to examine the application of GeoGebra activities in the eighth grade mathematics textbook to students by making use of the prepared worksheets. In the research, teaching experiment method was used. The research was carried out with 19 (12 girls, 7 boys) students attending the eighth grade of a public secondary school in the 2020-2021 academic year. As a data collection tool in the research; "worksheets" given to students with dynamic material and "semi-structured interview forms" made with students were used. Since the GeoGebra activities in the course book are given as an example, the students were first given lectures in accordance with the coursework order in the course book. After the lesson, the GeoGebra activities in the textbook were prepared as dynamic materials and applied to the students with worksheets. During the implementation of these activities in the lessons, the students were asked to answer the applications and related questions by using worksheets. At the end of the lessons, semi-structured interviews were conducted with the students. After the implementation of the activities, a content analysis was carried out as it was desired to explain the students' concepts learning situations, the worksheet and the thoughts about the GeoGebra activities in the textbook. 40.36% of the students reached the generalizations in the worksheets correctly and answered the questions correctly. 20.48% of them could not answer any of the questions examined in the worksheets correctly. Students stated that GeoGebra activities should be given with worksheets.
