Teachers' opi̇ni̇ons about the fun geography materi̇al developed for 9th grade students

Many methods and techniques can be used in geography teaching. One of the methods and techniques that can be used in geography teaching is teaching by using entertaining geographic information. Fun geography can be said to be the use of interesting and interesting information about the subject in local or international area. When this method or technique is used, this method or technique has been the subject of study since the students' interest in the course may be higher. In this study, in addition to the traditional methodology of the natural systems unit in the 9th grade textbook, it is examined to what extent it will be explained with interesting, interesting and interesting geographical information. In this study, 50 geography teachers working in Bursa city were surveyed and semi-structured interviews were conducted with the same teachers. After these interviews, a course material was developed for the natural systems unit supported by interesting geographic information and teachers were asked to evaluate the possible contribution of this material to the course. The findings obtained after the interviews showed that the majority of the teachers gave answers in support of the use of this course material in the lessons. Findings show that students show more interest when teaching using entertaining geographic information. This can increase learning. At the end of the study, suggestions were made about this subject.
