Abstract (EN)

The place of welding methods in-vehicle technologies is indisputable. In the 20th century, welding technology and highway technology, became an indispensable element of vehicle production with welding robots developed by Henry Ford. Welding technology has accelerated vehicle production, and the final product quality has been seriously improved. High toughness is essential in materials with many weldingrequiring metallic structures, high strength and good processing capabilities. However, low toughness, stability and reliability in welding such materials seriously affect the production quality. In particular, the toughness of the weld seam and the heat-affected zone (HAZ) should be equivalent to the toughness of the base metal. In this context, researchers have worked on different welding methods and materials. It is known that in recent years, initial studies have been conducted on hybrid welding methods. This study aimed to increase the weld seam of dissimilar metal surfaces with the active tungsten inert gas (A-TIG) and the intriguing ZrO2 and Al2O3 metal oxide powders. When used in the welding process, these powders act as fillers to enhance the mechanical properties of the welds. The study found that the HAZ region in the samples coated with ZrO2 was smaller compared to the other samples and that the highest mechanical strength was reached with hardness (494.8 HV), tensile strength of 1298 MPa and 113 J/cm2 impact energy. No cracks or superficial deformation were observed in the weld seam due to the compatible thermal conductivity of the ZrO2 metal on both metal surfaces in the HAZ region. The results show high toughness values were obtained in the welds made with ZrO2- coated Strenx960/St-37 at 160A current density.
