Comparison of the curricular content in primary education between eu countries and Turkey

Education is necessarily one of the most important values for a country?s development, advancement and its people whom ought to be in a good position in their social lives. When we look at the developed countries, we see that the budget saved for education is more than the other areas. After the declaration of republic, in Turkey efforts to spread educational activities to all country has started together with the collective reading-writing organization. Every other year, importance given to the education increases and to put educational system in good manner reports prepared by the experts who brought from the abroad. From time to time there have been some program changes in educational system. When these programs are being developed, countries that have good educational systems are carefully examined and same of these programs are put into effect in our country. Turkey has a target that goes on half a century: To get into the European Union. Negotiations have started between Turkey and EU and now Turkey have gone into the scanning process. So the education is one of the headlines of the negotiations, adaptation in the areas of education is very important to go into EU. When carefully examined, there have been little differences between the EU members and the Turkey in educational areas. This research is prepared to give more information about EU?s projects and policies about education, especially about Comenius that including primary education, and to make comparisons about primary school lessons between the EU members and Turkey. From the members of EU England, Italy, Hungary, Norway and Greece selected. In these countries structural characteristics and contents in the primary school VII are examined. Written resources are collected from every country?s ministers of the education, official sites about education and resources books.
