Abstract (EN)
İn this study, the situation of Abkhazian People who migrated from The Caucasus to the Ottomon State in the 19th century, as far as the Ottoman Archives and the reasearch works of the Prime Ministry were discussed. The situations of the Abkhaz people during and after the migration were evaluated. The reason why we chose the period between 1860 and 1865 was the fact that Sheikh Shamil surrendered to the Russians in 1859 and that were massive mass immigration to the Ottoman State as a result of the last Russian-Circassian war in 1864. The Ottoman State had settled the Caucasian peoples in Anatolia and the Balkans. The Abkhazian peoples have also been settled in suitable places in the Ottoman geography within the framework of the Ottoman State Settlement Policy.
