Abstract (EN)
There are many writers who focus on village life during the Republican Era. One of these writers is Abbas Sayar, wholived from 1923 to 1999. Abbas Sayar, who began his literary career with poetry, is best known for his novels. Abbas Sayar's novel "El Eli Yur, El de Yüzü," which deals with the situation in the village of Zağcıoğlu, affiliated with the center of Yozgat, in connection with the 1954-1957 elections, is an important work in terms of its humorous examination of Turkish village life. In this work, Abbas Sayar addresses the back wardness of villages. The idea that societys hould be composed of educated individuals is also a fundamental theme in the work. Abbas Sayar, who is also from Yozgat and worked as a journalist there, is fluent in the local dialect. For this reason, when describin gevents he encountered in village life, such as personal interests taking precedence, political rivalries, poverty, etc, the author frequently draws on the vocabulary of the local dialect. Abbas Sayar also uses slang expressions appropriate to the natural state of the characters when he has them speak in then ovel. These slang expressions reveal sadness, loves, and disappointments. This study aims to identify the vocabulary of Abbas Sayar's novel "El Eli Yur, El de Yüzü." The study consists of two sections: The introduction covers "Abbas Sayar's life, literary personality, and works, the scope of his vocabulary, and the elements it contains," while the se cond section focuses on Abbas Sayar's novel "El Eli Yur, El de Yüzü."
