Abstract (EN)

This research aims to investigate Mu'tasim Billah's Conquest of Ammûriye/Amorium within the concept of Abbâsîd-Byzantine relations. The main purpose is to acquaint the reader with the Amorium which is a Byzantine city in the West Anatolia and to quote the researches which has been carried out about the conquest pursuant to the bilateral relations. Our research consists of an introduction, three main chapters and a conclusion. A summary regarding to the presentation of the research is submitted in the introduction. In the first chapter, the city which is the research object is introduced and its history is narrated briefly. In the second chapter, Islam-Byzantine relations are touched upon and the process which led to the aforementioned conquest is assessed. As for the third chapter, all the events which occurred from the beginning of the expedition until the end of the conquest are narrated. The study is brought to completion, thereby adding up a conclusion to the end of all the expression.
