Özet (EN)
The influence of Turkish peoples on art and culture during the Abbasid period is undeniable. Luster manufacturing, which has an important place in art history sources and especially in Islamic ceramic art literature, is mostly discussed within the scope of the technological revolution experienced in Islamic art, while the typology and iconographic features of these products are generally examined within the framework of regional Arab and Ancient Mesopotamian cultures. The great envy experienced towards Chinese porcelain ceramics and the Luster paint adopted from glass art during the period gave great momentum to Islamic ceramic art. The subject that is aimed to be examined in the thesis research is to clarify the Central Asian Turkish culture influences on the ceramic works with luster and human depictions produced during the Abbasid period. When the human figures depicted in ceramics are compared with the depictions between the 8th and 11th centuries, there are similar features. Among these, the most striking features are holding a drinking bowl or musical instrument in the hands, sitting cross-legged, high and sometimes tufted headscarves that are not suitable for the local climate and are probably made of animal hide, embroidered high-top boots made of leather, long caftans that reach the ankles and have collars fastened with a belt at the waist, and long braided hair. In the thesis research, the effects of Central Asian Turkish culture will be examined based on these features, supported by historical data, and possible similarities will be investigated with scientific methods.
