Abstract (EN)

Me senteric panniculitis (MP) is a benign disease of the mesentery that is usually diagno sed incidentally by computed tomography (CT) in which obesity is also blamed in its etiology. The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between CT-diagnosed MP and CT-described abdominal adipose tissue areas. A total of 92 patients, 48 men and 44 women, whose exclusion criteria were remaining, were included in the study. A control group of 80 people (40 men, 40 women) in the same age groups was formed. The relationship of MP with total adipose tissue (TAT), visceral adipose tissue (VAT), subcutaneous adipose tissue (SAT) and VAT/SAT ratio was evaluated separately for both genders. Abdominal adipose tissue areas are determined by manual drawing of the TAT and VAT contour using a free-hand technique on a single axial section in the L2–3 intervertebral disc range using a special workstation. SAT area was calculated by subtracting the VAT area storage area TAT area value. TAT and VAT area control adjustments in the female region were higher (p=0.002, p=0.0001, respectively). Male subjects had higher both TAT, VAT and SAT areas than control groups (p=0.002, p=0.01, p=0.001, respectively). The cut-off value for VAT in the female database was 146.29 cm2 and 403.03 cm2 for TAT. The cut-off values for TAT, VAT and SAT in the male region are 404.63 cm2, 228.79 cm2 and 149.08 cm2 tension, respectively. While the VAT/SAT ratio was lower in male patients (p=0.04), the VAT/SAT ratio was higher in females (p=0.001). As a result, the TAT and VAT area with female features, the male surface-weighted TAT, VAT and SAT area; Obtaining a predomi nantly VAT/SAT ratio in female patients and a reduced VAT/SAT ratio in the male population with MP.
