Abdulkadir Al-Bagdadi's Şehname Lugati (research-text)

Dictionaries are the treasures of language that make a bridge between the past and the future, gaining the past, past, the new meanings, idioms, subtleties, metaphors, terms and real meanings of a language. They contain not only the all of words and phrases in a language but also their equivalent in other languages. For this reason, dictionaries are needed for languages to survive, continue, and grow. This work is Abdulkadir who had been lived in 17th century the scholar, linguist, traveler and literary man, contains alBaghdadi's Lugat-i Shahname. The Turkish equivalents of the hardly understood Persian words in Firdevsi's famous work, Shahname, are given in this dictionary. For this reason, even in the dictionaries available today or only a part of the word can be found in this dictionary. This adds a distinct value to the work. The words are given in parentheses after the beginning of the article. Subsequently, the explanations per item were latinised according to the transcription alphabet, which was spoken at that time and remained in Turkish. In this way, 17th century will also contribute to the vocabulary. In addition, in the review section, individuals, witnesses, archaic elements, traditions and customs, such as the verbs that reveal the true value of the dictionary are identified and explained.
