Abdulkerim Zeydan and personality related to fiqh

Abdulkerim Zeydan is one of the most important jurists, usul al-fiqh, jurists and da'wah of the last century. He is a productive scholar who has written very high quality works in many different fields, especially Islamic jurisprudence, usul al-dawah and da'wah. Zeydan, who is from Iraq, is a high-level figure with both his scholarly and academic identity, and a respected and active person. In this study, we wanted to contribute to the better recognition and benefiting from Abdulkerim Zeydan Hoca by providing information about his life, works, scientific, jurisprudential and educational aspects. Zeydan frequently compared Islamic law and modern law as a scientific method. In addition, from his jurisprudential perspective, he addressed some new developments, social changes, political issues, various issues and problems in a scientific and expedient manner and confronted the reality. He has based his work on authentic scientific and procedural foundations and has strived for the most appropriate answers and solutions for truth and reality. He has been in an active position in the field of education and Islamic invitation, again drawing a scientific path. In this context, in the first part of our study consisting of four parts, we have touched upon the importance, purpose, method and sources of the subject under the title of introduction. In the second part, we have discussed Zeydan's life and personality, and in the third part, we have discussed some of his most important works and articles. In the fourth part, we have processed his jurisprudential personality and understanding within the framework of marriage and divorce issues of family law, and we have reached a conclusion with the last part. Zeydan is from the Hanafi school of thought, and is a faqih of choice and interpretation from the tabakatu'l-fuqaha. Although he is a traditionalist scholar who is attached to his roots, he is also someone who has an innovative side, who confronts modern issues. Of course, it is seen that he has followed a path on the right path without falling into excess and understatement in this "innovation". It has also been determined that he handled contemporary issues and problems well, offered accurate solutions and remedies that were healing to the Grand Vizier, and adhered to the understanding of ijtihad and expediency in his opinions and fatwas.
