The evaluation of Abdullah al-Bukhari's Mahaasin al-İslam wa Sharaayie al-İslam in terms of Hikmat al-Tashri

The first detached works about the science of hikmat al-tashri, whose roots date back to the time of the Prophet Muhammad, began to be written in the 4th Islamic century. One of the most important works written in this field is Mahaseen al-Islam and Sharaai al-Islam written by Abdullah al-Bukhari in the 6th Islamic century. The work was verified by Husamaddin al-Kudsi in 1938. When the studies on Hikmat al-Tashri were examined, it was determined that only the name of the work was mentioned, but there was no information about it. The purpose of this study is to reveal a precious work related to the hikmat al-tashri and to evaluate the author's views on the wisdom about the Islamic Law. While writing his work, the author explained the wisdom and secrets of not only worship(ibadaat) but also the issues not related to worship(muamalaat) and the issues about criminal(ukubaat). However, he did not classify these issues as ibadaat, muamalaat and ukubaat and did not address the issues systematically. The author made great use of Quranic verses and hadiths while explaining the wisdom and secrets of the Islamic law-related subjects. At the same time, he approached fiqh issues mostly on the axis of sufism and determined the wisdom and secrets of the religious affairs by combining fiqh and sufism. As with any science, there is subjectivity in hikmat al-tashri. However, when evaluated in general, it can be stated that his opinions are reasonable.
