Abstract (EN)

This research uses the works and understanding of a contemporary scholar, influencer and author: Abdullâh el-Hararî, to explain the Islamic belief in Godhood and prophethood. In the introduction, the thesis subject, its importance, goal and the way the resources of the thesis were summarised are stated. In the first chapter of the three-chapter thesis, the author's life and works are mentioned. In the second chapter, included are Abdullâh el-Hararî's explanation of Godhood, key quotes from classical scholars and proofs taken from prominent linguistic texts and their references. In this chapter, there is an emphasis on the creed that pertains to God's dis-similarity to the creation, the Attributes of His Existence and His Oneness. These matters relate to the first and most important matter that an accountable person must know, including the belief about God's Attributes of Sight and His Eternal Will. As for the third chapter of the thesis, the author aims to focus on Abdullâh el-Hararî's understanding and definition of prophethood, the proofs and definitions of prophethood and their importance. This includes the Prophets' necessary characteristics, what is impossible to be attributed to them and the reality of their miracles and their high status. In the conclusion, it is demonstrated that Abdullâh el-Hararî's definition of Godhood and prophethood is all based upon, and in agreement with, the understanding and teachings of Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamaah. Key Words: Abdullâh el-Herarî, Godhood, prophethood, linguistics
