Abdurrauf al-Munawi and his place in hadith science

Abdurrauf al-Munawi was one of the important scholars of the hijri 10/11th century who was a muhaddith who had knowledge in many different disciplines. As a result of his scientific identity, he had given so many works in such a wast science field and especially in the hadith. As for his authority in the society, he was asked to write in certain subjects by the people of his time and so that was a poverfull evidence about his position in the society. So that, it has great value to determine Munawi's place in the hadith science according to his survived works. For this reason, in the first chapter of this study, which consists of an introduction and two chapters, it is emphasized that Abdurrauf al-Munawi's life, period, scientific personality and works. As fort the second chapter, it is dealt with his scientifc explanations about some particular hadith issues and hadith disciplines, and his hadith commentaries and some critics he referred to some scholars.
