ASSESSMENT OF RETURN VİSİT TO THE EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT WİTH THE SAME COMPLAINT WITH IN 24 HOURS: AN EXAMPLE OF THE A STATE HOSPİTAL. Purpose of the Study: It's planned with the prime purpose to evaluate the common reasons of reapplications and rate of patient swhore applied to a State Hospital Emergency Service withsame / similar complaint swithin 24 hours. Inaccordance with the obtained data, making a contribution to similar studies for reducing reapplication rate and rewardingthe ER Services more efficient, faster, higher quality and cost effective presentation; monitoring and evaluation of quality in emergency service and patient care and shedlight on patient and staffsatis faction are our other purposes. Study Method:It is a cross-sectional, retro spective observational study. This researchconsists of the patients who reapplied to a State Hospital Emergency Service with same complaints between 01. 01. 2016 and 31.12.2016. Data has scanned from hospital information management system (HBYS) Study Findings: As a result of the survey, it contains 1707 patients, 27,7% (n= 473) women and 72,3% (n= 1234) men, who reapplied the emergency service with the same complaint with in 24 hours. The ages of the patients ranged from 1 to 118 years and average of their ages is 33,62 ± 16,59. It's determined that 81,2% (n=1386) of these patients are between theages of 18-64, 91,7%(n=1566) of the patients' health insurance is SSI (Social Security Insurance), 58,7% (n= 1002) of the patients has applied out of working hours, consultation is seen in 2,1% (n=36) of the patients and 10,5% (n= 180) of the patient has applied in August. 17,7% (n=302) of the diagnosed of the patients are examination for admin istrative purposes, 14,5% (n=247) acuteup perrespiratory tractin fections, undefined 12,5% (n=213) othe rexaminations for adminis trative purposes, 4,7% (n=81) other soft tissuelesion, not else where classified 4,4% (n=75) upper respiratory tractin fections, 3,8% (n=65) renal colic, undefined 3,5% (n=60) gastroenteritisandcolitis, non-enfective undefined diagnoses maden. StudyResults: Rate of the patients who reapplied to Bir State Hospital Emergency Service with the same complaint has been found as 0,0054 percent. Reapplying to emergency service with the same complaint increases the congestion of emergency service. Inthelight of the data weobtained in ourstudy, we have found that administrative examination sincrease the number of reapplications. The second most commonreason of application that we obtained in study is upperrespiratory tractinfection. (ÜSYE) Inthelight of the obtained data, a seperateclinic for administrative purposes examination may be open. We observed that the number can be reduced by giving discharge education to patients who appliedwith ÜSYE. Keywords: Reapplication, Emergency Service
