Abstract (EN)

There are some complaints by local people in Seyitömer Lignite Enterprise about the blast induced vibrations. It is highly important for the plant to reduce the blast induced vibrations from the explosions to avoid these problems and the environmental disturbances.In this study, the effects of artificial discontinuities behind the throw in Seyitömer Lignite Enterprise on the occurrence and development of the blast induced vibrations were investigated. For this reason, artificial discontinuities with holes which were drilled in a single line in the direction of blasting on 3 panels were planned. Total 10 holes which were 10 meters depth and 2,5 meters distance from each other between the explosion zone and measurement station were drilled. Then, an artificial discontinuity line was created by exploding these holes with little amount of explosives. Two vibration measurement devices were used to measure the vibrations. The vibration measurements were carried out in just front, just behind and 5 meters, 10 meters, 15 meters, 25 meters, 50 meters and 75 meters behind the discontinuities. In this context, 395 vibrations were measured resulting from 150 explosions.The acquired data were evaluated without any classification and then they were evaluated by classifying them between panels and the measurement point on the panels. Moreover, we tried to determine an equation that provides the best correlation by evaluating the data according to the 11 different particle velocity forecasting methods in the literature.At the end of the study, it was determined that peak particle velocity in the data acquired from especially just in front of and behind the artificial discontinuities changed a lot and the more the distance grew, the more the changes declined.Key Words: Artificial Discontinuity, Vibration, Explosion.
