Özet (EN)
The porpuse of this study was to investigate whether there is an association between diabetes mellitus and increased lactate levels in the patients blood during open heart surgery with extracorporeal circulation, to ensure that people working in the field of cardiovascular surgery have a prescience on this issue. This research was a retrospective study. The data of the research was obtained by scanning patient files that diabetic patients (group1;n=50) who had coronary artery bypass surgery and those who did not have diabetes (group 2;n=50). The analysis of the data were made by evaluation of the surgical data and blood values, statistically. The data were collected considering factors that are known to increase lactate production during the operation. Statistical analyzes revealed that there were significant differences between the blood lactate values of the two groups who had diabetes mellitus and did not have. It was found that lactate production was higher in individuals who had diabetes. As a results of the study, as well as many factors such as geriatrics, long-lasting pump and cross-clamp times, tissue hypoxia which increase lactic acidosis, it was observed that diabetes mellitus is a factor that increase blood lactate level during open heart surgery with extracorporeal circulation.
