The determination of occupational health and safety awareness in Adana City Education and Research Hospital

In this study, it was aimed to evaluate the knowledge, attitudes and perceptions of Adana City Training and Research Hospital employees about medical waste and work safety. In the questionnaire, the first 6 questions include demographic characteristics, next 39 questions evaluate knowledge, attitudes and perceptions, and the last 2 questions determine the requirements to eliminate possible negativities. The data were analyzed by Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) package program. As a result; in our study, information about medical waste management has been given and it was seen that expressions of the participants as "true, false, do not know" could not be attained.The necessary trainings within the framework of multidisciplinary cooperation should be repeated periodically for all sector employees in eliminating the deficiencies in waste management, eliminating occupational accidents or reducing them to an acceptable level.
