Relationship between just world belief, self sufficiency,workplace aggression and attidudes towards disabled inthe workplace

The just word belief is the concept of fair perception of the world and the belief that people get what they deserve. Aggression is a behavior that strong, violent and effective in order to dominate, defeat and manage. Self-sufficiency is the perception of the individual's ability to achieve an action. The aim of this study was to examine the relationships between the attitudes towards the disabled in the workplace, the just world belief, self-sufficiency and aggressiveness. For this purpose, a total of 190 participants, 81 women and 109 men, participated and the Just World Belief Scale, Aggression Scale, Attitudes Towards Disabled People in the Workplace Scale and Self-Sufficiency Scale were given to paticipants. Findings showned that there was no significant relationship between the just world belief and attitudes towards the disabled, whereas aggression and self-sufficiency were significantly correlated with attitudes towards the disabled. Also, open aggression and frustration sub-dimensions of Aggression Scale were predictors of attitudes towards disabled. In addition, self-sufficiency played a mediator role among aggressiveness and attitudes towards disabled people. Finally, according to demographic variables, there were significant differences between the participants' fair world belief, self-efficacy and attitudes towards the disabled. These findings were discussed in the ligth of the relevant literatüre. Key words: just word belief, aggression, self-sufficiency, disability attitudes
