Review of the Step by Step Kindness Preschool Education Set according to the Presidency of Religious Affairs 4-6 years old education program

Pre-school education is a process in which children in early childhood are prepared for education by supporting their cognitive, affective, and psychomotor development areas. Including religion and values education in this process is of great importance in the development of the individual. Religious and values education should be given during this period, together with other fields of education. Otherwise, it may lead to spiritual deficiencies that cannot be compensated. Therefore, it is essential to integrate religious education into the education process. Books are the primary materials used in pre-school religion and values education. For this reason, it is aimed to examine the Step by Step Kindness Preschool Education Set within the scope of the Presidency of Religious Affairs Quran Courses Teaching Program for the 4-6 age group. A literature review was conducted within the scope of the research. A qualitative method was used to perform the study. Additionally, interviews were conducted using a semi-structured interview form with 20 instructors working in Quran courses for 4-6 age groups throughout Karabük province. A phenomenological design was used to collect instructor opinions, and the data collected in the research was analyzed through content analysis. As a result of this research, it was determined that the Step by Step Preschool Education Set supports the "Values Education Area" and "Supplementary Acquisitions Area" achievements in the Quran courses curriculum for the 4-6 age group but is not suitable for the developmental characteristics of the general 4-6 age group. As a result of the addition of complementary learning achievements to the 4-6-year-old curriculum, it was concluded that such training sets should be updated and material options should be increased, considering children's developmental characteristics, meeting the needs for auxiliary materials.
