An analysis of Adnan Özyalçıner's children's books within the framework of virtue-value-action

The aim of this research is to identify the values presented in Adnan Özyalçıner's children's books and the actions associated with these values, based on the Virtue-Value-Action framework developed in line with the Türkiye Century Education Model. The research was conducted using a qualitative research method and employed the descriptive survey model. Data were collected through document analysis and literature review techniques, and the obtained data were evaluated using descriptive analysis. The study examined 26 children's books written by Adnan Özyalçıner. These works were analyzed in terms of the values and value-based actions included in the Common Text of the Türkiye Century Education Model Curricula. As a result of the research, a total of 1,124 value messages were identified. According to the research findings, it was determined that the value of love (132) was the most frequently emphasized value in the examined works. This was followed respectively by helpfulness (121), compassion (88), aesthetics (83), respect (81), justice (73),honesty (70), diligence (60), humility (57), family unity (45), patriotism (39), patience (38),responsibility (36), frugality (35), sensitivity (33), friendship (31), freedom (30), healthy living (27), privacy (24), and cleanliness (21). Additionally, it was determined that 66 out of the 70 core actions based on these values were reflected in the examined works.In conclusion, it was found that Adnan Özyalçıner's children's books are rich in terms of the values and value-based actions outlined in the Common Text of the Curriculum of the Türkiye Century Education Model.
