Investigation of healthy lifestyle behaviors of adolescent individuals according to some variables (The sample of Bayburt province)

In this study; it was aimed to examine the healthy lifestyle behaviors of high school students during their adolescence years according to some variables. Descriptive survey model, one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the study. While the population of the research consisted of adolescent individuals in Bayburt, the sample consisted of 510 high school students, 281 women and 229 men, studying in the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades of secondary education institutions. The "Healthy Lifestyle Behaviors Scale-II" consisting of 52 items and 6 sub-dimensions, developed by Walker (1996) and adapted into Turkish by Bahar (2008), was developed by the researcher as a data collection tool and a demographic information form consisting of 9 questions used. It was seen that the data transferred to the SPSS 26.0 package program and whose normality analyzes were performed had a normal distribution. Independent t-test was used in paired groups and one-way analysis of variance (Anova) was used in multiple groups, depending on the number of categories of the independent variable in the analysis of the data. According to the findings obtained as a result of the research, when the HLBS-II scale total scores were analyzed; It was observed that there were significant differences in the variables of gender, place of residence, education level of parents, family income status and sporting status (p<0,05). However, it was determined that the difference in the variables of family structure type and number of siblings was not significant (p>0,05). In conclusion; It can be said that the variables of gender, place of residence, education level of parents, family income and doing sports are effective on healthy lifestyle behaviors of adolescents.
