Abstract (EN)
Since communication requires reciprocity by its nature, aphasia has an effect both on the aphasic individual and also on the family members and other relatives of the aphasic individual. The impact of aphasia on family members is defined in the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health as third-party disability and functioning. The aim of this study is to adapt the Family Aphasia Measure Life Impact (FAMLI), which aims to measure the third-party disability and functioning of the relatives of individuals diagnosed with post-stroke aphasia, into Turkish, and to bring it into the literature by making validity and reliability analyzes. 71 relatives of aphasic individuals were included in the study. IBM SPSS 25.0 and Winsteps program were used for statistical analysis of the data. Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality test, explanatory factor analysis, rasch analysis, Pearson and Spearman correlation coefficients were used to reach the required psychometric properties. As a result of the analyzes, 4 subsclaes were determined and rasch analysis was performed on these subsclaes separately. A subscale containing 4 items was removed because it showed low individual reliability. As a result of the validity analysis, it was concluded that the face, content, construct and criterion validity of the scale confirmed. As a result of the reliability analysis, it was determined that the subsclaes of the scale showed a high level of test-retest reliability, and in the internal consistency analysis performed with rasch analysis, item and person reliability in three subsclaes were found to be at an acceptable level. Preliminary evidence has been found that the FAMLI-TR is a valid and reliable tool.
