The role of search and rescue teams in disaster method:case of Adana AFAD

Although many definitions have been made, the most genaral definition of the disaster is natural, technological or man-made evet that causes physical, economic and social losses, interrupts or suspends normal life and human activities, and the capacity of the affected society is not sufficient. The disaster management system, which was created to overcome the disasters with the most harm, needs to be managed in line with these common objectives with all institutions and organizations of the society in order to plan, direct, coordinate, support and implement the activities that should be done before, during and after the disaster. In this study, all local plans related to disasters, especially Adana disaster response plan have been examined. Adana Provincial Directorate of Disaster and Emergency and all public institutions should be in cooperation in disasters and should be prepared for the necessary struggle in disaster and emergency situations. The intervention processes and necessary measures should be taken in order to minimize human life and material losses in case of disaster and emergency have been investigated.
