Assessing of illustration and photograph use according to pupil opinions in poster design

The aim of this research is to assess pupil opinions towards using of illustration and photograph in poster designs and to make suggestions according to the results which have been acquired. In this research, it has been benefited from source scanning model and quantitive methods. Visuals that is existing in the data collection means have been formed by the author herself.Target audience which is subject to countless message bombardment everyday to perceive its own message depends on determining the ways that is used in order to differ in communication consciously and correctly and depends on communicate the message correctly.Poster design as a communication means is separated from other communication means because of being included daily life. Poster designs can communicate the message most effectively to audience because of bearing the characteristic that is being communication means beyond whole artistic anxiety.Generally, illustration can be described as a Picture that is put books in order to explain or decorate writing text. Illustration art has continued development in western countries by dividing various departments as of the years industrial revolution realized.Photograph has taken place throughout our life area after its invention in 19 th. Century. Especially, thanks to that it is regarded as an art department, it has been a means that photographers could explain themselves freely in art movements.Briefly, illustration and photograph together is one of the indispensable parts of poster designs as being whole areas of visual communication. In this research assessing whether there is a significant difference between use of photograph and illustration according to pupil opinions in poster design, compare with photograph, in general meaning illustration is realist and more effective aspect of being original and attracting attention.Key Words: Illustration, Photograph, Poster Design, Graphical Design.
