Studies on Tabanidae (Diptera) fauna of around Afyon province

This study has been carried out 37 species all in all Chrysops compactus, Chrysops flavipes, C. hamatus, C. viduatus, Dasyrhamphis umbrinus, Hybomitra acuminata, H. ciureai, H. expollicata, H. ukrainica, Atylotus flavogutlatus, A. loewianus, A. quadrifarius, Tabanus autumnalis, T. bifarius, T. briani, T. bromius, T. cordiger, T. cuculus, T. exclusus, T. glaucopis, T. leleani, T. lundtus, T. maculicornis, T. martinii, T. mild, T. regularis, T. spectabilis, T. spodopterus, T. sudeticus, T. tergestinus, T. tinctus, T. unifasciatus, Haematopota bigoti, H. grandis, H. ocelligpra, H. pallens, H. subcylindrica belonging to Chrysopsinae and Tabaninae subfamilies have been identified around Afyon from 2002 to 2003. The species Chrysops flavipes, C. compactus, C. hamatus, Tabanus spectabilis, T. sudeticus, T. tinctus, T. regularis, T. martinii, T. glaucopis, T. briani, T. leleani, T. maculicornis, T. exclusus, T. spodopterus, Haematopota grandis, H. subcylindrica, H. pallens, H. bigoti, Hybomitra expollicata, H. acuminata, Atylotus flavoguttatus, A. quadrifarius and A. loewianus are the first records for the region. The total number of determined species in around Afyon reaches to 51 with the result of this study and the previous studies.Keywords: Afyon, Diptera, Fauna, Tabanidae, Turkey.
