Architectural and static properties of historical stone bridges in Afyonkarahisar region

In this thesis, it was aimed to determine the architectural and structural features of the historical stone bridges in Afyonkarahisar. For this purpose, historical stone bridges in the province were determined and all existing bridges were examined in situ. Currently in Afyonkarahisar province; Altıgöz, Harmancık, Kanlı Gölet, Cenkçi, Kurşunlu, Koca, Kışlacık, Kışlacık Su Yolu 1-2-3, Araplı, Bent, Horasan, İki Göz, Karadirek, Yolkonak, Başağaç, Başağaç Giriş, Balmahmut, Akören, Garipçe 1-2-3, Kırkgöz, Dörtgöz, İkigöz, Koca, Başkonak, Meryem, Taş Köprü, Kurt Musa ve Yunuslar Ağılı Bridges were determined as 33 bridges. These bridges were evaluated with both historical and architectural features, GPS locations were determined, photographed, modeled as 3D and also rendered images of bridges were produced. Balmahmut Bridge and İscehisar Koca Bridge were analyzed by finite element method under the influence of vertical loads. Finally, the bridges, which were determined to be demolished, were discussed in terms of history and architecture. As a result, it was determined that the available and demolished historical stone bridges in Afyonkarahisar province were recorded in a current way, made the records more qualified with three-dimensional visuals and the result of static analysis of the bridges coincide with the current situation.
