Abstract (EN)

This study named "Music Practices in Folk Culture of Afyonkarahisar City, Şuhut District, Tekke Village" analyzes the factors and phenomena of music that are generally present in the district in terms of local culture and belief. Lack of a broad study on the variety of musical practices and on this subject in the village of Tekke provided the basis for the start of this study. The music practices identified in the district were determined according to the method and technics used in the field study. In this context, as a result of the field study conducted, it was seen that there was limited information on the socio-cultural structure of the district and in parallel with that, the data was tried to be widened with the oral sources. Then, by using visual-audio materials gathered, the study continued with the information about the evaluation of oral melodies in terms of literature and music. Within this scope, notes, and scripts of the samples of the determined folk music gathered by the conducted studies were documented. In addition to this, oral and musical analyses of works were conducted and the information about the result is given with graphics and tables.
