Abstract (EN)
SUMMARYSome Lactation Traits of Holstein Cows in the Conditions of AfyonkarahisarIn this study, data of 201 Holstein cows maintained at two private farms inAfyonkarahisar were used and it was aimed to determine the factors effecting some lactationtraits and possibilities for selection. At the end of the least-squares analyses of variance the average lactation milk yield, peak yield and lactation persistency, measured by coefficient of variation, were 7057,705 ±170,743 kg, 34,114 ± 0,537 kg and 0,317 ± 0,012 respectively. The effects of calving seasonon lactation milk yield and parity on peak milk yield and persistency were significant(P<0,05).It was concluded that the milk yeild of these Holsteins was higher in the conditions ofTurkey and some enviromental factors such as parity and calving season must be consideredin a selection.Key Words: Holstein, lactation milk yield, peak milk yield, persistency.
